About Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction

Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction is the oldest organization for specialists in the field of Assisted Reproductive Technology. Since its establishment in 1991, ISAR has grown from strength to strength with 19 Chapters covering 25 states and over 3300 members till date including gynaecologists and embryologists. ISAR is the second largest infertility society in the world.

ISAR conducts many large conferences and focused workshops across India throughout the year to reach out to maximum number of specialists. The thrust of ISAR is training and mentoring of young people who are specializing in the field of ART. Regular newsletters are being published and ISAR brings out respective journals from time to time in super-specialized topics.

As a multifaceted organization, the aim of ISAR is to consistently provide high level of academics, fellowship and social work with its leadership and support of members.

Indian Fertility Society

Indian Fertility society was established in 2005 as the need was felt for the professionals to interact and share knowledge and keep up with vast advances in this field on a continuing basis. It became a platform for young upcoming infertility professionals to interact with the more experienced members. This young society is now poised to take a leap into the international arena by organising the 16th IFFS World Congress! with the growing need for infertility management in the country, a great future lies ahead for this progressive society. IFS has seen an unbelievable journey from 20 founder members to a current strength of 2200 life members and 23 state chapters which has resulted in nationwide participation.

European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology

The European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) was founded in 1985 by Robert Edwards (University of Cambridge) and J. Cohen (Paris), who felt that the study and research in the field of reproduction needed to be encouraged and recognized.

The aims of the society are:

• to promote the understanding of reproductive biology and embryology
• to facilitate research and the subsequent dissemination of research findings to the public, scientists, clinicians and patient associations
• to inform politicians and policy makers in Europe.

The society further engages in medical education activities, the development of data registries, and the implementation of methods to improve safety and quality in clinical and laboratory procedures.
